Back pain

I have been having a wierd back pressure in the upper left side of my back.  Its kind of in the shoulder blade area.  The problem is it gets super tight and then goes numb in that area.  I have no chest pains or limited breathing with this problem.  I have had an MRI and a CT and everything is negative.  I was wondering if it was a muscle issue being that all the nerves checked out good on the MRI? If you could put some incite in on this I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks

glad i can help. whatever you do, do NOT stretch those mid back muscles with stretches that involve rounding your back. the muscles back there are already over stretched. they need to be STRENGTHENED with exercises that pinch the shoulder blades together. any stretches that involve EXTENSION of the torso and limbs will be good for you.. (ie stretches that put you in the opposite position you are in when you work---doorway stretches are especially good)

MUSCLE issue it sounds like. the rhomboids and posterior scapular stabilizers get weak and stretched especially in people who spend alot of time on the computer--it comes from hunching. look up upper crossed syndrome on the net and work on strengthening those back muscles and stretchng the scalenes, pecs, scms, upper traps.
