Back

I've been getting these sharp shooting pains in my back when I either turn or whenever I'm squatting down then getting up to the point that I get stuck in that position for a few minutes.  It's been happening on and off for a while now.  It's only happened on the entire right side and the entire lower portion extending to my lower vertebrate (not at the same time). When it happens I cannot move my back for a couple of weeks afterwards without being in severe pain.  I'm not doing anything strenuous at the time I'm getting the pains that would cause this to happen so I'm clueless as to what's going on.  Please help!!!!

It sounds like a muscle spasm.  They can be due to strained muscles in your back, or due to something more serious.  I think the best way to solve the problem is to get a prescription from your doctor for physical therapy.  Physical therapy will help you strengthen the muscles that support your back, and will also help relax the muscle spasms..  If physical therapy doesn't help, you can ask your doctor for a referral to an orthopedic surgeon for diagnostics.  Good luck!
