C,6,6,7 FUSED WEDNESDAY WITH TITANIUM DISC

I had my procedure two days ago and I'm recovering quickly.  I wanted to put htis out there because of all the negative input from people on line makes peoople fear the procedure.  I'm walking daily and my energy level is high. I take off my brace a few times a day to air it out. I'm 42 and glad I did it.  I would recommend using a neurosurgeon.  They are the best at it.

It's always good to hear success stories, but there's something you need to understand. Most people who have had successful surgeries do not spend a lot of time on forums like these, their able to move on with their lives.

We all know that there are more positive than negative results from these procedures, for every success story we get 5 bad stories here. Its just the nature of the boards. These negative stories are not made up, don't you think these people have a right to tell their story? The majority of  people that come here are scared and looking for answers and in a lot of cases these patients have been abandon by their Doctors and have no where to turn. I don't know how many surgeries you've had or much experience you have dealing with the Medical Establishment, but there is nothing quite like the feeling of going to your Doctor in pain asking for help and to be told that you shouldn't have the pain or that it doesn't exist. It can be quite demoralizing.

We are here to offer support, most of the regular members have had all these surgeries and can offer insight and support. Personally, I had a very successful back surgery, my neck, not so great but that's not because of the procedure, its because I was misdiagnosed. And I plan on another neck surgery in couple months, do you think I'd do that if I didn't think it would have a good outcome.

Our purpose here is not to discourage people from having surgery, its important that they understand how serious it is and that they try all conservative treatments first, but in a lot of cases when its apparent the person needs surgery we try to inform and encourage them, so they know what to expect. It would be extremely irresponsible to talk someone out of having a procedure that they might benefit from, I wouldn't want that on my conscience. Read some of the posts here.

I have an idea, since we don't have enough positive stories, you can start posting regularly about how successful your ADR procedure was. And you can start out by responding to the post entitled:

"POST SURGICAL PAIN AFTER CERVICAL DISC REPLACEMENT"

He had surgery about 5 weeks ago and still has a lot of pain, he had a ADR like you. Offer him some support, ideas, tell him how yours went. THAT'S WHAT THIS IS ABOUT!

Hey buddy, great to hear that's awesome news
The response you got was a bit
Of BS by Kalvin, who needs an essay in response to your success story

I've had surgery on L4/5 via a neurosurgeon and they are good at what they do

People who have fusions of discs don't go on with a 100% normal life they always have in their head what they can and can't do to avoid back under the knife again, but you can move on that's for sure

Good work :)

Welcome to the Forum.

You obviously missed the entire point of what I was trying to relate. It was probably over your head. This person wanted to share the fact that they had a very successful ADR because the majority of story's online are negative, and that's great. And if that's all they wanted to do that's fine.

But why not take it a step further, share your experience with other people who's recoveries aren't going so well, try to reassure them, ease their mind. Show a little concern for another human being.

That person just proved my point, that people who have successful surgeries do not spend much time on forums like these. Any body can criticize, how about doing something to change it.
