Mine was when I awoke from surgery. The firest 24 hours is real hard, while the nerve reconnect. At three weeks I was walking 6 miles. I havn't dropped anything sence the operation. Have you had the operation yet? Everyone told me too not do it but I followed my docs advise and it was the right thing to do. It has been since 9-13-06 and I feel much better. I also need a thoracic operation on SIX levels havn't made that disicion yet. Still researching this one. Not many thoracic operation performed. I hope this helped. It's all about your attitude. I had 80% improvement which I think is great. Lois

Okay, now I am getting frightened.  I had the surgery 2-20 and actually have less mobility in my arm than I had before and the shooting pains are not relieved.  I was wishing to wake up and all that shooting pain be gone from down my arm.

Sorry it's not working for you. Do you were a neck brace? I didn't and forced myself to walk outside at two weeks. You could have some nerve damage. You have been less than a week. Give it one more week, walk every 30 minutes around your house and take the drugs. The musle relaxers help alot the first two week. The nerves reconnecting can be weird. I couldn't walk before my operation so maybe I'm so glad to dump the cane that I don't let the 20% of what still hurts upset me. Email me  ***@**** if you want to chat on the phone. I hope this helps. Lois
