C2 c3 pain in neck and ears

I have had 3 c spine surgeries in the last 10 yrs. my first surgery gave me relief at c4/5 with a fusion and doner bone. Then 5 yrs later I had c4 thru c7... Also a spinal cyst at t1... And finally 8 months ago...a longer plate with screws was placed at c4 thru c8....one month after that last surgery new pain exposed itself.....I have head aches at the base of my skull that radiates into both if my ears...my question is.....what does c2/ c3 entail?i have been told that on my last MRI that those areas were deteriorating. The pain us excrutiating.....what are some of the other symptoms and concerns that I should be aware of  with severe pain coming from this part of my c spine?

Yes I know that nobody can make a diagnosis in these forums, I already have one. I was looking for someone who has had this pain, or the surgery, to come forward and talk to me about their experience.

Thankx

Sorry to hear that you are in pain.

Yes, it is true that nerves associated with C2/C3 innervate the surface of the ears and provide some innervation of soft tissue in the occipital area, however C2/C3 nerve impingement is by no means the only cause for occipital pain, and this forum is certainly no place for a medical diagnosis.

No one can responsibly offer medical advice or an accurate diagnosis without a physical examination. Please see your pain doctor for a consult and workup of your pain problem.

Best wishes.
