Cervial Spine question

Cervial Spine question

I recently received an MRI and results are as follows:

Impression: Mild-to-moderate right paracentral disk protrusion at C5-6, progressive when compared to the patients prior study. There is associated effacement of the ventral aspect of the thecal sac and mild compression of the right paracentral aspect of the cord.

My question is that my doctor has now said I might need surgery and is sending me to a spine specialist, does this look operative? I have constant tingling in my upper back and neck and have a hard time turning my head without pain.

I would try the conservatives but I have TOS which I have been on 800 mg ibuprofen and other pain meds for over 6 years. I am not able to do any PT due to the TOS.

Maybe just some outlook on the need of spine surgery. I have had 6 other surgeries including first rib removal and scalenectomy. Any help or info is very very appreciated.

Thank you
