Cervical Radiculopathy?

For about a week I've had slight tingling and numbness in my right thumb and right arm after about 2 days of mild pain in my right shoulder blade. Throughout this time I've also had mild pain in my neck. Also when my arm hangs straight down that's when the tingling and numbness is most present in my arm and thumb.  I still have full control of my arm and hand but the tingling numbness is both annoying and troubling. After some research it appears I have symptoms of Cervical Radiculopathy, I'm just seeking confirmation of this and I'm curious as to what my treatment should be. Since everything seems to be very mild will rest alone heal? And if so about how long does it take before my symptoms go away?  Or do I need further treatment?

We can't really confirm this for you, you'd have to have a MRI and a EMG and then your symptoms would need to be correlated to the findings. But as some one who has had 1st hand experience with Cervical radiculopathies, I'd say your definitely on the right track.

Probably wouldn't be a bad idea to see your Doctor, but what you really need is some time with a good Physical Therapist. Rest might get rid of it in the short term, but it'll come back. Therapy is a much better solution. It's sounds like you're just at the beginning of this, so you want to get going on this before it gets worse.

Could it also be carpal tunnel syndrome?
