Chiropractor Diagnosis

I was in a car accident 12 days ago...other driver ran his redlight and hit my driver's side door.  I was driving about 15mph and he was estimated to be going approx 50mph.  Symptoms were tight neck muscles, weakness and pain in arms, tingling in right hand, mild spasms in right forearm, burning pain between shoulders, pain on top of arms/shoulders, mid back pain, waist/lower rib pain, low back pain traveling down right leg to heel.  Went to Chiropractor today for results of xrays and he said I have advanced dis degeneration with multiple bone spurs and lots of arthritis.  I had no problems to speak of before the accident, no pain or tingling or burning sensations.  He said that I hurt now because all of the muscles, tendons and nerves are "stoved up" due to the accident and my pain will probably get much worse as swelling goes down.  Does this sound right to anyone?

I have no clue what the term STOVE UP means and I have been a RN for 35yrs. I don't see your age anywhere. I do know this...ALL of the symptoms you describe are normal for the type of accident you were in. You are so lucky to even have survived a Tbone accident with him going that fast into your door! Twelve days isn't a long time to still feel rough. I also know that degenerative disc is not something that comes from an accident. It is time...and is usually more advanced in women who smoke or have smoked. That kind of tells me you are not a teenager in age. Bone spurs and arthrits dont result from a car accident either...ever. You might still have pain, but 12 days out you should not be having swelling. I'm a firm follower of Chiropractic...I went to college for my RN and then Massage. The BEST I ever felt in my life was during Massage...we had to give and get 2 massages each day. I never had a pain or ache the whole 2 yrs!
Hope that you get better soon and hope that I answered the question.
