Chronic Back Pain

Just a note to all who have had or are experiencing back pain. Back in 1983 I was 30 years old and ruptured a disc (L4/5) , my Ortho Dr. hyped me up on pain killers and muscle relaxers and then talked me into having a laminectomy. I never got over it and lived in chronic pain until two weeks ago. I worked traveled raised three children and living  in depression. Was told by some it was in my head (what the **** did they know). This past Thanksgiving I had a spell that was not getting better. I had an MRI done and they found spinal stenosis and buldging disc along with scarring. I went to see a Nureosurgeon and they recommended a TLIF Fusion. I told them I wanted to think about it. The dr. was up front and said you will feel better but not at 100%, it can take up to 1 year to heal and be careful what you do. This time I was very positive about getting some relief and went in to have the surgery 4/22/10. I was up in 1 day walking and left the hospital the nest day. I wera a back brace when outside, got off the meds two days ago (you have to do that-use them for awhile but give them up) I feel alot better and all I can tell you stress is not good so if you can't afford the time off to heal wait until you can. Has anyone else felt better after surgery?
