Controlled hanging safely possible?

Controlled hanging safely possible?

I am a photographer, and for a concept shoot I want to get a realistic portrayal of a hanging, and use myself as the subject.  I thought of doing a staged hanging but there are those subtle differences that wouldn't be there, as well as the space between the ground and my feet.  Of course I want to make sure that this sort of thing is possible to do safely, neck strength, etc.  I would have a crew assisting me, removing the table from my feet and putting it back after five or ten seconds and ready for any problems.  But I don't want there to be any problems and that is why I am researching to see if I can hang from my own neck for a few seconds without risk of major damage.

Help from the competent?

One other thing, it's useful to mention that while removing the table from beneath my feet I would have someone supporting my weight so I would not fall heavily and risk snapping my neck.

Any attempt at staging a "realistic" hanging is not recommended due to the potential risk of injury and damage to your cervical spine and adjacent muscles/ligaments.

Given that most individuals posting on this forum are attempting to cope with significant abnormalities to their spines, putting yourself at risk would be dangerous.  Not sure if the precautions outlined would be sufficient to protect you from injury.

All it takes is one microsecond to cause harm --- it is a risk that may not be offset by any potential photographic achievement.

Dang.  So much for realism.  How do you suspect they do it in movies?  Like Sin City, when the guy was hanging and swinging from his neck?
