Debilitating Pain in Hip OR lower back 10 years after spinal fusion

I had two lower disks fused in 1999.  I then had a hip replacement in 2002, where the donor bone was from the same hip used for the spinal operation.  In 2004, I had a total knee replacement on the oppossite side.

I have now got a very bad pain in both my hip and back...I can't tell which one is causiing the other...On some occasions, when I was seated, and leaned forward (usually) to pick up something off the floor, I felt and HEARD a very loud crack at the base of my spine...I think...it may be higher.  Both the back surgeon and the hip/knee surgeon have moved way far away from me, and the latter has gone with Kaiser, which I don't belong to.  He says he will see other patients, but I don't know if I can afford that.  I would like to consult with him and have him send me to someone who could check me out to see if I have an infection in either or all joints, just the hip, just the back...but this pain is terrible...and I hate relying on Vicodin...but it does take some of the edge off...ice, heat, and a vicodin, once in a while will help....for a while...has anyone else ever gone through this?  Am I going to have one or both of these things redone?  The spinal fusion can't be undone, can it?  Its the kind with the little metal cages in between two vertebra...

I would like to hear what anyone things it might be....and yes, I have the darn sciatica back with a vengenance too.
