Degenerative Cervical Disc Disease Diagnosis Questions

After an MRI with constrast recently, I was diagnosed with mild degenerative disc disease at C3-4 and C6-7.  At C3-4: Mild disc osteophyte complex without focal disc herniation, canal stenosis or neural foraminal narrowing.  At C6-7: Small central disc protrusion without canal stenosis.  Mild left neural foraminal narrowing.

My question is what is the prognosis for this diagnosis and and what symptoms are usually associated with it?  Also, would this cause problems like numbness and pain in the left leg and flank pain, or should I assume a seperate cause for those?

Thank you all so much for taking the time to read and respond.

The leg pain is probably not related to your neck from the M.R.I. You should have neck and arm or hand pain from the findings of the M.R.I. At such a young age and the fact that you starting a mild case of degenerative disc disease. I would ask for physical therapy to teach you how to exercise and lift properly. This very important for you at your age or you can develop a severe case of disc disease later on in life. You might even want to look into a chiropractor that has a spinal decompression machine. If you do the right things you may actually be able to reverse the findings of the M.R.I. You have age on you side.

hope i help
