Degenerative change

I have had back problems for about 2 yrs now, some days its worse than others, pain killers dont work, but anyways I had a DEXA done and the radiologist said there was a degenerative change in my spine, what that means I dont know no one has told me, also Had an xray done on my back and from that it said The bony density of the bony stuctures appears decreased or minimally demineralized, and it said Biconcave configuration of the vertebral endplates is seen from L1 down to L5 most likely secondary to compression of the vertebral endplates by the nucleus pulposus due to softening to the vertebrae. Can anyone tell me what this means, everyone said it was fine that I have talked to .
Thanks
