Do i have kyphosis

I am 16 year old male. I have back problems or so i think. The top of my back sticks out way more than it should and i always feel like i have to slouch in my chair.. it comes naturally i don't even realize i do it. when i sit or stand where there is nothing for me to lean on i get a pain in my upper middle back. i have very limited reaching abilities as far as sitting and putting my feet stretched out together and bending over to touch them.. more like i can barely bend down at all in that position the slightest bit.. i have seen my primary care physician and she told me that i have flat feet and possibly "knock knees"  ( she was not sure ) whatever that is. And also possibly ( i thought she said scifosis, she sounded like she said  skyfosus)  but searching for those words this is all i came up with and it does not sound good. especially considering how old i am getting. I was suppose to see a back doctor but my dad never took me.

Hi.  You could have scoliosis, which is a curvature of the spine.  You're born with it.  It doesn't necessarily cause pain, however.  Kyphosis is a backwards curvature of the spine.  It is actually a straightening of the part of the spine so it goes out instead of in.  This is a fairly common problem, esp. in older women for some reason.

The only way to figure out what's going on is to see an orthopedic back specialist and get some x-rays, maybe an MRI if you're having pain.
