the office where you are to have the procedure done should have given you a list of things that you cannot take. you really should call them and ask....tell them what medications you are taking....and also ask what else you cant take.

i had the ESI's on my lower back and was given a paper...but dont know if the same rules apply to you or not...

here is whats on my paper....

avoid taking NSAIDS....such as aspirin, ibuprofen, motrin, naprosyn, relafen, daypro, advil, aleve, B.C. powder, Goody powder, for 5 days prior to your procedure. you may take tylenol if needed. if you are on blood thinning medication for health reasons, you need to discontinue this medication as noted prior to procedure....you MUST contact your prescribing dr to get approval to stop this medication. Aggrenox, Plavix, and Aspirin must be discontinued for 7 days prior to injection and Ticlid 14 days prior to injection. Coumadin should be discontinued 3-4 days prior to injection and you will need to have blood work completed within 24 hours prior to procedure.

drink 1-2 full cups water 60 minutes prior to injection. eat a LIGHT meal. you may have 1-2 pieces of toast or crackers for breakfast if your injection is scheduled in morning hours.

all of that is listed on my paper. when i was there....a man had been taking antibiotics for something....and they refused to give him the injection...although that is not stated on my paper. so its best to call the office thats giving you the injection to find out what you can/cannot take....as they may be different....of similarly close to whats on the paper i have. make sure you tell them ALL the medications that you are taking....so that they can tell you upfront if you can/cant take them...or when to stop taking them.
they can better tell you what foods to avoid...cause im sure that we probably wouldnt list them all...and wouldnt want to mislead you.
