Extreme pain in middle back after few sips of Alcohol

Hi,
I am a 28 year old male. Drink very rarely. About once a month and that too only light beer or a cocktail of any spirit. I have been drinking like this since last 10 years or so. But in recent times, about 10 months or so, I experience this excruciating pain in my middle back right after only few sips of any alcoholic drink I take. This pain starts from middle back and spread to my right arm with deep sensation on my finger tips. Sometimes this spreads under my rib cage.
I generally move out of the scene, lie down at some place, and bear the pain for about 20 minutes after which it disappears or subdues. I can continue drinking after that, which i dont do, but the strange sensation remains in my back till next 5-6 hours or till the time alcohol is not cleared off my system.  I drink lot of water for quick healing.
The pain is really bad and at times my arm even starts shaking to release the energy.
It seems that my nerves are being compressed under some pressure. I consulted a doctor and he seems to have no idea and suggested some muscle relaxant medication and exercise. He even suggested to loose some weight(i am slight overweight but not obese)

Please help as what could be the exact reason for this and suggest any medication/ medical help.

CHEERS!!

I forgot to mention here that I experience the similar sensation in my back and arm, but not pain, when i have occasional excess of carbonated drinks like coke or pepsi.

Please have your pancreas checked! This kind of pain with drinking can be from pancreatitis - I know. I have chronic pancreatitis and it all started with alcohol. Same pain in the back that radiates. They will do enzyme tests to see if they are elevated. But you should go in when you are in pain as if you wait, they could return back to normal. Maybe you shouldn't drink AT ALL. Ask your doc to refer you to a gastroenterologist.

if you get it with soda exct,,,you proberbly got gasteritis,,,though alcohol can effect the pancreas, you usualy got to be a heavy drinker and it doesnt sound like your issue....
gasteritis is simply stomach irratation exct,,,,checkk into it,and lay off what you know causes it!

Thankx Crambone,
Yes, i am not a heavy drinker at all... I hope its not anything to with pancreas.
Is this Gasteritis curable?? Does the cure requires any medication course? and does this means that i never can have any beer or even a soda?
