Extruding disk at T11-12

Hi there
MRI shows rupture disk applying lateral pressure on the spine root nerve (covering about 1/4 of the nerve).
Numbness in upper leg, mild numbness in lower leg, weakness of quadriceps, yet no pain (thank God).
Condition started 3 months ago with severe pain that disappeared graduallly.
My doctor in Israel tells me operating at this level is too risky and advises "living with it" hoping it will get better by itself. Since I am professonally handicapped (I am classical guitarist) and find it difficult to adjust to the idea. He also excludes microsurgery, although I understand it's a common procedure in the US.I asssume that since my case is quite rare and being Israel a small community, there is not enough practical experience in the subject.
Therefore I'd like to consider microsurgery abroad, or at least knowing it's a feasible option.
Thanks in advance for your time
