I had a procedure done for an overactive bladder done last Friday. I had the cysto done and that came back as the lower half of my bladder was covered with cysts and they expanded my bladder. Came out of anesthesia fine. Then the next night i went to sit up in bed and felt like electricity went through my body and now from my littleLittle noses decongestant Little tummys toes all the way up to my bottom on just the back side of my leg is tingly and numb. Pain just shoots through that leg so intense that I shake and just cry. Cant sit in one position for longer than a few minutes and cant stand for longer than 5 min. Am on crutches at this point and today is Saturday so it has been over a week since procedure.
I was scheduled for an MRI Friday but could not do it because when I tried to lay down the pain was too excruciating..my leg would shake to where I could not controlControl Control rx it. SO....they are going to put me under in order to do the MRI. They asked if I had history of MS i my camily which I do not. I looked up sysmtoms and do not think that is it. The Urologist says that this is not related to the procedure what so ever. But, before the "procedure" I could walk and did not have blood in my stools.

I am sorry to hear of your continued health problems. I assume your ruptured discs were diagnosed through MRI exam. A lumbar epidural can produce increased pain initially and then reduced pain due to the analgesic medication injected. Epidural injections may need to be given in a series of three before adequate pain relief is achieved.
The cysto probably is not related directly to your back pain other than how you may have been positioned on the examination table. Any accompanying muscle sprain/strain can add increased discomfort.
It would be beneficial to get the MRI as suggested by your doctor to determine if there has been interval changes in the condition of your discs and whether there is increased nerve involvement. Treatment options would be based on the clinical findings of this diagnostic test.
The blood in your stools needs further investigation as it is an indication of abnormality which can vary from internal/external hemorrhoids to various types of cancer. A history of cancer in your family makes appropriate screening necessary.
I hope that once the diagnostic tests are completed you will have a better understanding of the sources of your pain and able to determine the most effective options for treatment.
Please post again with your progress and any additional questions/concerns you may have.

Thank you...Kittyluv1....I am scheduled for an MRI where i am sedated on Monday. Tried to get sooner although, the Urologist had heart problems and is now in the hospital himself. Sooo........seeing the doctor regarding the blood on Wednesday.
have been wondering now if the leg and blood are related like a tumor blocking nerves and making blood in stools?!?! Just a thought, I think I am looking for any answer right now no matter how far fetched.
My family doctor is trying to get ahold of the Doctor that did my epidurals soo..that is where we are at.
The numbness and tingling and pain are so bad in my foot that i have to wrap my foot in a blanket and wrap the heating pad around that to get some feeling and relief.
I am afriad that the longer it takes to get something done, the better chance of permanent damage.
The longest I can stand is to make myslef a very quick sandwich or change the clothes from washer to dryer. The p[ain gets so intense that i feel like i am going to literally pass out. My nerves ar shot i fell like i could just snap.
