Help, mom 37yrs, with 3 kids, 2 disc buldges just diagnosed

For 5 years Kaiser told my husband I was depressed and I just had arthritis.  5 years of not being myself.  My son is 5 and he doesn't even know the real me.  I do try as much as I can to be fun, but it's very hard and not always able to happen.  I have three kids to raise and I was begging the doctors at Kaiser to do an MRI and I was crying asking them please.  They wouldn't.  I guess I didn't fit the profile since I was so young.  Finally after putting my concerns in email form for all of Kaiser to review they did the MRI. He told me last week that I had a prominent disc buldge in the neck area (C5/C6) and the middle back (T11/T12).  He used the word prominent several times.  But still he was hestiant to tell me that "would I like to speak to the surgeon for a consult?"  I told him of course I would.  I would like to be atleast more informed and then see what I need to do.  I get the feeling he still thinks I should live with it and it's no big deal.  I wish he spend a week in my shoes (not a day because it's the build up of fatigue with the pain that makes my life so fun)  He should experience that.  It's basically a charlie horse in my back 24/7.  He also stated the people have a natural "s" shape, mine is a "j" shape spine.  Please respond with anything info or advice you can give me.  Elizabeth
