Six weeks ago, I had an anterior fusion of S1 to L3. Next week I will have posterior fusion and laminectomy of
S1-T10. I had a moderate amount of pain with the first surgery since I had an abdominal access. The back pain was not bad at all. How good or bad is the pain with a posterior access? Does the surgeon cut muscle? (I forgot to ask.) I have a 45 degree scoliosis curve, degenerative disc disease, arthritis, stenosis ,etc. I believe the first surgery was very successful and am looking forward to more positive results.
