I am 18 years old and 7 weeks pregnant should i be having severe back pain

Ever since. I was a child I have always been very thin low weights. Is my gaining weight going to cause me back problems not only now but in my future? Will the pain and stress on my body effect and or hurt my unborn child?

Anytime more weight is added to your front that does put stress on your back. This is why many women with large breast or are overweight have back, knee, and feet pains. It is unusual to get severe pains so early, but not surprising if you are a small women. I suggest talking to your dr to see if some sort of brace or something could help you carry this weight. You might also want to look into a better mattress and/or pillow.

I only know of one women who had permanent back injury from child bearing- however she already had bad scoliosis. Each of her pregnancies made her back problem worse. So I know it's possible for a pregnancy to mess up a back permanently, I do not know how frequently it happens though. Again talk to your dr or ob, they should be able to give you advice.
