I found out a little over a year ago that I had a tumor growing in my back. My PCP told me that nothing was wrong with me for almost 10 years. I had been in and out of imaging for the better part of 2 years. Every time I would go back for a follow up, the PCP told me either nothing was wrong, they had lost the imaging, or there was no record of me even doing the imaging. 3 Years ago I found out I had been walking around with a broken wrist to the point of surgery (I had finally gone to a specialist). This specialist sent me to PM. At first they wouldn't do anything for me. Apparently, my PCP had put in my file that I was always looking for narcotics. PM had me get an MRI, and in the very first one from them, they found a tumor that had already not only attached itself to my spine, but also to one of the nerves for my left side. On top of that, at least two of my discs had separated from my spine due to the tumor pushing them out. I had the surgery a year ago, and now the PM has me constantly doing epidurals and steroid injections. I had been on Percocet 5 mg 5x a day and Neurontin 500 mg 3x a day. Now I'm on Neurontin three 3x a day, Norco 7.5 mg/3x day, Meloxicam 1x a day. This is not working, and I don't know how to let my PM doctor know this. Every time I step with my left leg, I get shooting pain all the way up my left side and back down. God forbid my kids want to go to the park or the pool. I can't even clean my house without crying in pain. What should I do? How can I let my doctor know that I need something stronger?
