Injured my lower back near hip

Hi
I was trimming the conifers with a pair of extended secateurs above my head, I flicked a piece of conifer over my head, whilst holding the secateurs with each hand, I felt a slight pain in my lower back, and a slight thump Close to my hip, that was 12 weeks ago. The pain is quite severe, at times, mostly when getting out of bed in the morning. Although working in the garden for an hour. I did not feel any pain. I have been to my doctors, and he has set up an appointment for an x-ray this Saturday. If you can help in any way, it will be appreciated.
