Is EMG painful?

Hi everyone. Has anyone had an EMG/NCT done for neck and shoulder encroachment. The Ortho wants this test done and I have no idea what to expect.

I have had cervical and lumbar emg.What bothered me the most was laying still.

I didn't have it done for my neck, but I had it done for my lumbar spine and legs. It wasn't bad at all. There was only one area that hurt, and it was when they placed a needle in my lower back. Just make sure you let them know if you are allergic to bandaids, and don't wear any lotions.
