Lay on a flat hard surface?

Will laying flat on a hard surface lessen backaches over time?  Or can this cause more troubles or make no difference at all?  I think this maybe helping my back pains.  My bones don't seem to be cracking as much anymore.  I got in the habit lately after taking a shower of stretching out flat on the floor for maybe an hour.

Zak is right - there are many different causes for back pain. Resting on a hard floor can help in some of those cases, but certainly not all. Have you sought professional advice on this yet?

Consider calling a good, well-respected chiropractor in your area if that's not something you've tried yet. Chiropractors will be able to identify the potential neuromusculoskeletal components of this problem.
