Left chest, back and leg pain

I am a 23 year old male in excellent shape. I lift religiously and participate in lots of physical activities. I developed a pain in my chest (and sometimes shoulder blade/back) about two weeks ago which was most noticable when I inhaled deeply or sneezed. I went to my doctor and he gave me an ekg and everything was normal. I told him that I had recently taken up mixed martial arts and I had been training harder than usual to get into better shape. He said that I likely sprained a chest muscle based on his physical exam. He gave me celebrex to reduce inflamation. I returned a week later because I started to feel a slight shooting pain in my legs (mostly the right). The chest pain wasy not as bad and sometimes not present at all yet at others it comes back. He said that I likely had "a touch of sciatica" which was causing the pain in my legs. He marked the severity as low. When I asked about how that related to the pain in my back/chest he said that his initial diagnosis was still likely the cause and the two issues were unrelated. I have not had an MRI or an xray and I am currently taking a new anti-inflamatory medication. Most of the time, it seems like I do not have chest/back and leg pain simultaneously. It is is either one or the other. It seems like my doctor got lazy on his diagnosis and I was rushed out the door at both my visits and thrown some pills. Can someone support or disprove his diagnosis? Should I just give it more time to see if my symptoms will go away? Any expert help would be great.

Thanks for the response. That chart is more helpful than my doctor was.

They very well could be related. By not getting a mri to really check what is wrong your doctor is a idiot. Never trust a doctor that is not willing to listen, test and just gives you meds. There is a chart on my profile that may be helpful to you. It is a nerve conduction chart and shows the nerves, vertebra and what they affect. Watch out for any numbness or tingling. That is a sign it is getting worse and you are risking permanent damage. I would go get another opinion. I lost 78% of the feeling from my waist down because I had a doctor that didn't listen. Best of luck to you. Keep us posted on your prognosis.
