Lower left back pain that spreads to run the length of my spin, should i be worried?

I have starting getting pain in the lower left part of my back, just above my hip, and the pain moved to the centre of my back running all the way along my spine, then the pain returned to my lower left side, the pain keeps coming in waves and nothing seems to help for example, sitting straight, sitting normally, laying down, or laying on either side. Can anyone please help me because it is driving me bad, everytime a wave of pain hits me i automatically sit bolt upright and this may be arrelivant i am not sure but i keep getting pains and needles in my right hand and arm, also my right foot is a lot colder than my left. Help?
