Lumbar decompression & Facet fusion of L3-4

Lumbar decompression & Facet fusion of L3-4

I have been running races for years. In the past 2-3 years my right leg has gotten fatigued while running. It felt better to run barefoot, so I ran with out shoes. Now, furing this past year the condition has progressed so that I can not run more than 10 minutes without the leg failing. I have been to Doctors (neuro, ortho etc) Chiropractors and for acupuncture etc. A well respected neurosurgeon recommends a lumbar facet decompression and facet fusion at L3-4. Please give advice ...those of you that have had this procedure? Will I lose flexibility? Will I run again? Recovery time? Did your procedure include 'hardware" like screws to keep facet fused?
Thanks so much
(PS.. I am 50 years old)
