Lump in hairline

I have a small lump just on the hairline at the back of my neck.
There has been a small lump there for a number of years, I only started to notice it fter the ckicken pox, for a long time I thought it was a scar until I asked my parents to have a nosy at it, their verdict was a cyst of some sort and discription.
However, recently I have noticed the lump has grown slightly, enough for me to notice it more. It apparently just looks like a red lump. I began poking it a little, thinking it may be an ingrown hair or a spot, but to no avail.
Any advice? Or any ideas what it could be?
