Lumps in neck

Hello.  I have a lump on the right side of my neck, sort of in the front....to the right of my voice box, or I guess you could say under my jaw.  I went to the doctor roughly 9 months ago.  He told me it was a swollen spit gland.  However, this lump is still there.  I does seem to feel smaller some days than others.  

I also have a dime size lump on the left side of my neck.  This one kind of feels like it is in the neck muscle.  It is hard, and I sometimes feel pain with it.  The doctor couldn't feel it, and said since it was that small he wouldn't worry about it.  This was also 9 months ago.  I am also having ear pain from time to time and severe headaches.  Any suggestions?
