MRI Lspine disc hern 7-8mm HUH?

Could you read it and let me know what is means?
Needing some help on a few finding from MRI of L spine please:
"There is mild disc space narrowing and disc desiccation with some mild spurring anteriorly. There is mild posterior disc bulge with associated annular tear resulting in mild ventral thecal sac indentation. <<<<L4-L5
What does this mean about the tear? a tear can't be good

L5-S1"mild disc space narrowing and disiccation. Moderate to large disc herniation in the midline(7-8mm).Mild ventral thecal sac indentation. Abutement of the S1 nerve roots bilat. with potential for impingement.

Please help put these in lamens terms.  and what is annular tear.

my question is help me read my MRI a little better I'd love some help on this please please!

your report sounds mild-- it even says "mild" for each finding. I doubt anything on this report is causing you any symptoms

what are your symptoms? I just re-read the report and it is possible the large midline herniation can be causing some symptoms.
