MRI Results ? Need Help with Neck Pain :(

Hello,

can a doctor help me with the MRI results I have posted below. And, if there is a neck surgeon out there who thinks that they can help me, with fusion, or other surgical options. Since I have tried everything, and I mean everything up until now, and I want my life back (to some degree). :(

The MRI I had done recently was compared to a CT scan of my head / neck several months ago. I was in a three car automobile accident in 1998, then drug down a 200 foot embankment behind my home (actually, hanging on to the car door while it drug me down the hill. I recently had a glass shelf fall on top of me, before Thanksgiving, and shortly after this last accident have had muscle weakness in my right arm/right hand, blurring vision, trouble with bright lights, headaches, sever pain in my neck, more so than normal.

Radio Frequency Ablation: RFA
Third time, in two years.

Yesterday, I had the RFA procedure done at C2 - C6 they burned five or six nerves. However, I'm still in pain. I think it last for a few weeks after the RFA. It is my third time getting this procedure done in only two years. I guess, I'm tired of being tired, in pain, and going through painful procedures just to have a life with less pain.

I'm looking for help with the MRI results, as my pain specialist didn't say much. I don’t' know if this was because I was preparing for the RFA procedure, but I really need to know, is my neck pain serious enough to have spine fusion done? I've tried everything else, and I really believe this would give me more of my life back. Finding a surgeon to help me has been more of a problem than the pain itself. I don't know if it is a matter of income or not, but I'd sell my kidney to get my back fixed. :(

MRI Results:
February 2010

The visualized spinal cord is normal. Mild patient motion artifact is noted on the axial images. The cervical spine is in anatomic alignment. 8-mm benign hemangioma with hyperintense T1 and T2 signal is noted in the anterosuperior aspect of the T4 vertebral body and second 8-mm benign hemangioma is also noted in the right T4 pedicle at the junction with the T4vertebral body. The bone marrow is otherwise normal in signal.

C2-C3: A right paracentral/lateral recess small disc-ostaophyte complex is present which mildly effaces the right ventral the cal sac without significant central spinal canal stenosis or foraminal stenosis.

C3-C4: Right lateral recess/foraminal disc-osteophyte complex results in moderate right foraminal stenosis and mild effacement of the right ventral thecal sac, without significant central spinal canal stenosis or left foraminal stenosis.

C4-C5 and C5-C6: Small annular bulges minimally efface the ventral thecal sac without central spinal canal stenosis or foraminal stenosis.

C6-C7 through T3-T4: No disc hernation or stenosis.
T4-T5: A small annular bulge minimally effaces the ventral thecal sac without central spinal canal stenosis or foraminal stenosis.

IMPRESSION: 1 C3-C4: Right lateral recess/foraminal disc-osteophyte complex results in moderate right foraminal stenosis and mild effacement of the right ventral thecal sac, without significant central spinal canal stenosis or left foraminal stenosis.

2. Otherwise mild multilevel degenerative disc changes at the C2 -C3 through C5-C6 levels, without significant central spinal canal stenosis or foraminal stenoss.

3. Normal appearance of the spinal cord.

When you suffer with chronic pain, it is hard at times to see beyond the pain. I  believe that anyone can get through this, as long as they have the support of others. This forum is a great example of finding that type of support. I thank you for having it, and for allowing so many of us to share our thoughts, questions, and support.

Writing about a disability can be very beneficial. A lot of times, people don’t realize what positive influence writing about a disability can have.

Trying to help...

Looking for people with disabilities who have a book in progress, or are thinking of writing a book about their disability/or on a loved ones disability. It's a grant writing project, and it takes: "votes" from others to get it approved. I'm hoping that I'll have the opportunity to help several people publish their first memoir about their disability and/or be able to get internet access and a computer for people who have limited resources.
