MRI of the Cervical Spine performed

My MRI Impression says: I have a Broad-based posterior disk protrusion at T4-T5, resulting in mild spinal canal stenosis, without definite underlying cord signal adnormality identified. Limited evaluation of the thoracic cord signal due to significant CSF pulsation artifact. Mild multilevel foraminal narrowing. What does this mean and what treatment is recommended?

Hi there!

The MRI describes degenerative changes at multiple levels causing narrowing of the spaces that carry the spinal nerves and a specific disc bulge at T4/T5 causing narrowing of the spinal canal. These changes appear to be mild-moderate and conservative management with rest, anti-inflammatory medications and physiotherapy may be preferred at this time. I would suggest discussing the management plan in detail with your treating orthopedician/ neurologist.
Hope this is helpful.

Take care!
