MRI
what does this mean? Image quality is degraded secondary to motion artifact. There is broad-based mild dextroconvex curvature of the lumbar spine. Lumbar lordosis is maintained and no subluxation.

Hi!
During imaging if the patient moves or there is a disturbance in the path of imaging, then the image is not clear and this is called motion artifact. Dextroconvex curvature is the spine curving to the right. Lumbar lordosis is the normal anterior curving of the lumbar spine and this is maintained. In general the spine appears to be curving to the right with mild scoliosis. If you are having backache, then you may need to wear braces and go for physical therapy. However, please discuss this with your doctor and the imaging will need to be clinically correlated. Take care!
