Multiple disc herniations

I have 2 cervical herniations, 1 thoracic, and 3 lumbar.  I read somewhere that traction should not be done for multiple herniations. I can not find any further info on this. Does anyone know if this is true?  Anyone know why?

Right now, possibe cervical traction. I've had lumbar traction years ago, and, after awhile, I think it did make it worse, so I'm not sure if I am going to agree to the cervical traction because the last MRI showed alot of new issues like increase in bone spurs, some flattening of spinal cord and another herniation (a new small one).  The pain management office I go to changed their anesthesiologist, so I'm supposed to see him first possibly for nerve block again. I dont know what I'm going to decide. I just started reading alot of the questions and answers on this site because I am getting sick of all the needles every couple of weeks and nerve blocks dont last that long. The older I get, the harder it is to just "live with it".
