My whole back hurts and under my rib cage

Hi, I am a 31 year old female, mother of 4. My right shoulder blade has hurt for over a year now. When I go to the doctor- they just want to give out pain pills- I don't want pain pills, I want the pain to go away for good.

That's not why I'm here today. Yesterday I started feeling severe pain under my rib cage- it feels like it goes in a complete circle around the whole bottom of my rib cage (mostly under breasts and down and around). Also, the pain goes up the middle or most of my back. When I stand up to strech out my back, I felt two sharp pains under my rib cage- shooting up and I felt like I might passout.

Plaese help me with this pain. Thank you for your time.

The pain under the rib cage may or may not be related to your prior shoulder blade pain (sort of like a referred pain from the original site) and could be caused by a form of muscle strain.
The fact that your shoulder pain has been present for over a year is a concern.
Did the doctor obtain any x-rays or other diagnostic tests to assess your shoulder joint or cervical spine?  It might be beneficial to have x-rays done to determine if there are any structural changes that are contributing to  your symptoms.
Pain pills only mask the symptoms.  How has the doctor recommended you treat this condition?  Physical therapy?
Muscular strain/sprain type problems need to be identified and treated appropriately and any specific joint problems should be as well.
We are unable to provide any form of diagnosis and are only offering these opinions based on personal experiences.  Please contact the doctor and inform him of these new symptoms and hopefully obtain diagnostic tests to determine the cause(s) of your discomfort.
Post with an update and let us know of your progress ----
