Neck, Shoulder pain, then turns to burning

My job requires me to look down for about 5 hours out of the day, I stand and work at a waist length table.  I get this onset of a stabbing pain between my shoulders on my upper spine just below my neck.  The pain then goes to my right shoulder, if feels as is something is tearing in my shoulder.  Then all of a sudden it feels like I have put icy hot or something on my shoulder, but nothing is there.  It literaly feels hot.

What could I do to get rid of the pain.  I take Advil all day long and nothing helps it.

I will try this.  I do work at a high school and for 3 hours all I do is work a touch screen cash register.  I get about 500 kids coming at me at once, and my right arm is the one I use to do this.  I will try the heating pads and see if it works.  Thank You very much.

How long have you been doing this particular work? It sounds as though it is muscle strain. Muscle strain can cause a burning feeling. You problably are right handed and use it the most. The position and motion is over working and pulling. You can take Tylenol and Aleve, starting at the same time, then just go by the bottle instructions for each for the following dosage time. That should help with the pain and inflammation. Heat will help. Heating pads is what I usually use. You can get those heating bandages to use while you are at work, to see if it will help during the time you are straining it. Hope this helps you out. RJ
