Neck pain and numbness in left hand

Hello,

I've been having neck pain from years, but lately i had numbness in my little and ring lefts fingers, I took some NSAID medication. My neck still feel a little stiff and there is no numbness anymore, just feeling like a had an injury in my left hand. I had an MRI and the result is:

There is reversal of the normal cervical lordosis likely due to muscle spasm.
There is central disc protrusion at C4-C5 level indenting the dural sac and impinging mildly on the anterior surface of the spinal cord.
No medullary signal alteration. The spinal cord remains bounded posteriorly with CSF.
There is also small central disc protrusion at C6-C7 level without neural compression.
No significant narrowing of the spinal canal. No significant foraminal stenosis.
The spinous process of c6 is up tilted which can represent an anatomical variant but still deserves correlation with the past medical history.
The Cervico-cranial junction is unremarkable.

Will I have to go through surgery?
Is there something I can do to avoid any possible risks?
Note that I have to sit all day sue to my work nature.

Thank you
