I have been having SEVERE pain in pelvic area above tailbone. Not broken tailbone, spine dr said it was my SI Joint and needed surgery. Had SI injection and it helped and was told that it confirmed Mu problem was my Si joint. Pain came back after month. I wake up while sleeping cause of the pain, it hurts worse when I'm laying down, so I have to sit up for relief. Had another SI injection - no relief at all. Pain has been happening for almost 2 yrs no dr can tell me what's wrong or how to treat. Spine dr is only one who has been able to tell me anything, although I'm not going to have any surgery until I'm sure that's the problem. I have Hermes discs in my back and recently fracture L2& L3 vertibrates in car wreck 6 month ago and reinsured them again a month ago in another wreck. I've had 2 neck surgeries to correct herbed discs in 2007 & 2008. Oh course reinjured neck in wreck also. However, the pain from my pelvic/SI Joint/ or whatever it really is, my pain level is a high 9 on a scale of 1-10.
Does anyone have any advice or experiences they could share with me? I don't who what type of dr I should be seeing. Seen a spine specialist, my neurosurgeon , pain management dr, primary care etc. They all seem to act like the pain couldn't be that bad etc like its no big deal, but if it was them, it would be very important. I'm on serious pain meds but they don't kill the pain at night when it's the worst while I'm laying down.
Thanks foe listening!
