Pain after Spinal Fusion

I had a Spinal Fusion on the lower half of my back with a  double discectiomy with disc replacement and spring, then fused at lower levels.
Since 3 months post-op I have had severe buttocks pain that radiates down the back of my legs and feels like a large man is squeezing my ankles.  I have expressed this to my surgeon on 3 post ops since and he dismisses my complaints with irritation.  He never ordered therapy for me stating he just wanted me to walk and that would be sufficient.  On my 6 month post op he asked me if the surgery was a success.  When I did not answer yes or no because I was reminding and trying to explain about this buttocks and ankle pain he got very upset and said it was a yes or no question.  I just could not say yes and re explained my issues.  He has done ex rays but has never ordered any further testing such as MRI or Cat Scan.  I left the office very troubled by his demeanor.  I am so much in pain I finally have sought a 2nd opinion.  When I called there office and stated my situation  they were shocked with these symptoms that I was not ordered a Cat scan or MRI.  I forgot to mention after the surgery my left leg dragged and I had a extreme shooting pain down that leg with numbness for several weeks following surgery.  The left leg has regained strength, however now I have this bilateral pain running down my buttocks to the ankle squeeze.  I see this new doctor in a week with a MRI in hand per request by my MD.  I hope I get some answers.  It has been a long year and I hope writing this will ease some of my mental anguish.

My fully understand your anguish, a year is a long time to undergo the pain and physical symptoms you have experienced. I'm on my 3rd pain and spine specialist in my search for post op relief. If the new Dr doesn't work our try another expediciously. I pray you receive relief.
