Pain has moved to legs after l5-s1 back fusion

I had a back fusion back on March 17 of this year.  I seemed to be doing great, went back to work after nine weeks.
The pain is back,,,, where it use to be only the right leg it is now in both legs.  My legs seem week and the pain wakes me up at night.  The back pain is starting to get worse again. The burning is back in the right foot and senstive to touch.  Is this normal to feel better than worse.  The doc said I had done great with the recovery almost the best he had seen, and now he is puzzled.   I am also sick of taking pain medication it doesn't even take the pain away.
Any suggestions

hi.
don't know the answer to your question, but I do have a question for you.  WHY did they do a fusion?

i have a L5/S1 problem that I just got the results back on the mri. says that My disc is desiccated with a small central disc extrusion extending below the level of the disc and contacts the theocal sac. The disc is reduced in height and moderate vertebral endplate degenerative changes have developed.  Also, mild degenerative changes involve the lower lumbar facet joints.

I fear that surgery fusion will be recommended for me and really want to educate myself about my condition and healing options and not be pressured into surgery through fear and 'know it all' attitudes of doctors if I can avoid it.

thanks.

This doesn't comfort me, that's for sure.

I had L5-S1 fused back in May, and lately the pain has been a lot worse.  I'm trying to get off of the pain meds, so some of it may be related to that.  But I'm afraid the fusion is messed up or something.  My back pain isn't the same but is worse, my legs hurt, I have trouble sleeping because of it.  The doc said the same thing about me, that my recovery was textbook and perfect; I can't understand why I'm feeling all this pain then.  Please keep us posted.

I had a Microdiscectomy about 10 months ago for herniated disc L5 S1. I had severe sciatica pain prior to the surgery. a few days after surgery I started experiencing pain in both lower legs below the calf muscles which has never gone away and seems to be getting increasingly more painful. I blew it off to scar tissue or the sciatic nerve needing to heal. Back doctor says Xrays of surgical area look great. Has anyone experienced anything like this after back surgery?
