Please Help (kyphosis question)

I am 21 years old and was diagnosed with kyphosis (73 degrees), scoliosis (15 degrees) and Lordosis (9 degrees) when I was 14. For the past 2 months or so my back has been in very significant pain and about 4 days ago I was sitting down and had a very, very intense, sharp pain that started in my upper back and now have pain all up the spine from my lower back to my neck. I was told with kyphosis the disks separate and it's possible for nerves and ligaments to become lodged in the disks. Not sure if that's true but it seems possible since that pain, especially considering there was no trauma or strain.

Ever since that happened I've been in severe pain and I can't get to my doctor until sept. 10th, even though I told them it was an emergency. I was given vicodin by the ER for an unrelated reason a week ago and it's doing nothing for this pain. Usually my back pain is nowhere near this intense.

I guess what I'm asking is if nerve damage is a possibility and if it is, how serious could it be? I see a neurosurgeon on sept. 8th but I don't know if I can wait that long. I'm trying to keep from going to the ER as I don't want to bother them if I don't have to. Given the information I've given, what is the most likely outcome? And if needed I will give more information. Thanks for any help.
