Possible non union 5 mos post acdf c4 c5

I am confused following an appt with spine center.  I had acdf surgery July 9th, 2010.  I fell 12 days following surgery and the cadaver bone slipped in my neck.  Doctors worried about non union so xrays for the last 4 months to try to determine fusion.  Had flexion and extension xrays on Friday and when the doctor looked at them he said he saw no sign of fusion.  There was 3 mm of movement apparently.  So he started talking about surgery to revise at the end of this month.  He ordered a CT scan as a formality, he thought.  After CT scan he looked at the results and all around the cadaver bone it was black but inside it at the top there was some growth trying to happen, so then no revision and wait another three months and then recheck.  I have already been sitting  here for 5 months and I don't know how much more I can take.  It hurts like hell even with the hydrocodone and valium that I take at bedtime to supposedly help with the pain.  they offered me cervical facet injections prior to the xrays, but now just want me to wait because the joints look ok on the ct scan.  I have been trying to work full-time since the end of August, but really can't do my job very well.  Any advice????
