Post Diskectomy

I underwent a diskectomy 11 days ago to relieve a herniated disk at L5-S1. The surgery went well and the incision is healing. I was told not to lift or bend, etc. I was also told 2 days ago to begin walking 1/4 mile each day. My problem is since I felt well I have probably done some things I shouldn't. I squatted down last night and picked up a meat tray from the floor. Since that time my back has hurt worse than it has since the surgery. Could I have undone what the surgeon did? I am in pain and worried. Thanks for your help.

i also had back surgery the first two weeks after my surgery was awful. i was told that your muscles swell and it irritates everything in there. you probably just stretched a muscle that is already swollen and irritated but if you are real concerned ask for another mri to see if you have more herniation but i would give it a few days to see if it improves. hope that helps

i had the same surgery but mine may have been the worst case senerio it took 3 days before i could walk again. im currently doing better but the pain in my back is a 24 -7 thing. i have a follow up on the 4th of jan
