Post Harrington rod pain

Hello.

My name is Donna. I am 41 years of age. I had spinal fusion with 1 Harrington rod for a double major curve in August, 1981. I had a left nephrectomy in 2005; due to severe hypertension. I am now having problems with my lower back; near the end of the rod where the hook is. Also, I am having horrible pain in my hips. Sometimes my pain radiates down in to my legs. I am in agony at times. I have been told that I have osteoperosis. I would like to know if the nephrectomy or osteoporosis would cause shifting; therefore putting more pressure on my spine and hips? Does this sound like I should do an orthopedic consult?
