Post neck fusion back problems!

I have had a cervical neck fusion about 10 months ago, and ever since i have had severe pain about 6 to 8 inches underneath my right shoulder blade that runs down the right side of my back to about my mid-back. The only thing that has given me any relief has been trigger point injections, which only lasted about 2 weeks. I have since tried the trigger points again with no relief on the secon time. Any ideas?

I am sorry Sue for what you are going through. I too am having that feeling like someone is stabbing me in my lower back left side. I see the neurosurgeon on the 14th of this month. I can not stand life now after the surgery. I feel like I don't have a life anymore. I am depressed and feel like I am no longer the woman that my husband married. I feel as though I should leave him so he can find someone else that will make him happy. I went to the eroom last week and they did an xray only to tell me that all was fine. I know all is not fine. What are we supposed to do? I feel as if I never should have had the surgery. God Bless you Sue. As well all of us in this painful boat.    Tina

I too have started having back pain after a acdf at c5-c6.  I had an MRI done on my lower back.  It said there was very slight degenerative changes at L4-L5, otherwise negative lumbar spine MRI.  I have sciatic pain going down my right buttock and leg.  If I bend over from the waist, I feel like someone is stabbing me in the lower  back with a knife.  I am also having pain and/or spasms in the thoracic area of my spine.  I haven't had it checked out yet, but if I had a negative MRI in the Lumbar region, why am I hurting SOOOOO bad?  My doctor just told me to get PT.  I still have to sleep in a recliner, because if I sleep in the bed, I can't hardly get out of it in the morning.  If you find out what the problem is, please let me know.

Sue

I had a Cevicle Diskectomy with fusion. I did not get titanium, I got a bioabsorbable plate. The operation was 2 years ago and I can't tell I every had surgery.

My doctor did warn me that during that type of operation, If the pull your muscles to far apart in your neck, it could case shoulder pain.
