Result of Back Pain

I'm not sure that this is the right section to ask this particular question, but I'm rolling with it.  I injured my back in 2005 while I was in Iraq.  I'm only 23 years old, and awaiting surgery on my lower back.  My problem is that I still have to work until I get the surgery.  Within the past month, my pain has gotten significantly worse.  I've been to the VA doctor, and she just prescribed more meds.  I had a steroid injection, a steroid pack, and ultram to take, along with the etodolac I've been on.  I had a healthy sex life with my girlfriend of over a year.  When my pain worsened and I returned to the doctor, that's nearly ended.  I can no longer orgasm during sex, and it frustrates us both.  No matter what she does, I can't get mine.  Can the problem in my L4 and L5 putting pressure on the nerve running through the left leg cause this?  Or could it be the meds?  Somebody please help!
