Hello everyone. I am very sorry, but I think this is going to be a long post! I am a 27 year old femaleCondoms Female condoms Female sexual dysfunction. I have had quite a few serious health problems over my life and this has led me to be pretty inactive, out of shape and overweight in recent years. I need some help in making the decision whether or not to have back surgery.
In August of last year my back gave out after yoga and painting my house. I was off work for a week and was able to resume limited physical activity. Since then I had spinal decompression therapy twiceTwice-a-day a week with my chiropractor and twiceTwice-a-day a week visits to PDR back and neckCervical spondylosis Head and neck glands Herpes zoster (shingles) on the neck and cheek Irritated seborrheic kerotosis - neck Lymph tissue in the head and neck. Melanoma - neck Neck lump Neck pain Neck pulse Neck x-ray Oral cancer clinics on the medex machines to try and make myself stronger.
In January my back really and truly went out and I couldn’t even stand or walk or roll over in bed. I was off work for over a month. I had an MRI which showed moderate to severe disc degenerationMacular degeneration in my L5 L4 and S1, a small herniation in my L4 and a large 7.5 mm herniation in my L5. I consulted a surgeon who said he would like to try a steroidal epiduralExtradural hemorrhage first before considering a discectomy. In the last 5 months I have been getting stronger. I could not do any house work, but I could walk about a mile and stand for an hour and sit as long as I needed to. ( I have a desk job) I saw the chiro for another decompression on Saturday and my back hurt way more than usual. Then on Sunday I threw my back out again doing nothing and I am back in bed not able to stand, walk etc. I cannot keep having time off work, I will get fired! And I have no quality of life. I have now been told that my only real option is to consider surgery. But I am so young! And so many things can go wrong! What should I do?! Is the risk of surgery worth it for someone my age, or should I again try and recover the way I did before, always being one second away from another episode/? If I lose weight will it get better?I have had over 50 decompressions at the chiro and I thought it was helping, but I think it caused this most recent throw out. If anyone had similar stories please let me know what you did. I am so confused! Sorry, I knew this would be long! Thank you so much for your help!
