Sciatia Pain ? Anyone Ever had burning sensations in the feet ? ):

I have just finished up with my second surgery for the L5 disc. Most of my sciatia pain has been in the left leg. The second surgery relieved the numbness in my tailbone area, and I feel I can put weight back on the left leg.But the burning foot is so painfull.Went back today for post -op check-up, told doc of still sciatia stings, but my main concern is the burning in my foot which sometimes moves up behind the thigh area.He said to give a month or so, and see how it goes.He is not much on pain meds, which I can understand, but my goodness , if this burning sensation keeps up, what in this world am I gonna do.Not even Lortabs relieves the burning . ): Has anyone else here ever experienced burning feet, or numbness in the ball or toes of the feet when having sciatia pain. Any answer or reply would be sooo much appreciated. Thank You.

If you don't mind, what was your exact diagnosis?  I have the same burning down the back of my calf as well as into my foot and around my ankle.  There is also a strong pins and needles feeling in all.  Recently it has spread to my upper thigh and around to my hip bone.  I have been diagnosed with RSD but now they wonder if there is something else as well.  Waiting to get into neurologist on next Monday.  Thanks slh

I have numbness down the back of my calf and the bottom of my foot and around my ankle.  I get some relief from taking Lyrica.  It is expensive, but for me it works pretty well.  I still have numbness, but much less than without the medication.  I wanted to see whether Neurontin would give me any more relief, so I took a break from the Lyrica to try it.  That is when I realized how much relief the Lyrica actually provides for me.

I know what you mean, though, about the pain getting to you.  It is hard to concentrate on anything other than the pain when the pain is that intense.  By the way, I also get epidural injections, so that may be working to relieve the numbness, too.  But even with the surgery, Lyrica, epidurals, anti-inflammatorries lots of ice, a tens unit and narcotic pain medication, I'm still miserable.  Granted, I had complications after my surgery and required another.  But, I guess I am just living with the pain and talking to a psychologist about the depression from the pain and my inability to do a lot.  Also, I look at a lot of these boards and I feel bad saying this, but it's sort of a nice feeling that I'm not the only one suffering with back pain.  Of course, I would prefer that no one on the boards, including me, had to have pain.  Anyway, for the time being, I'm just dealing with it as best as I can.  I know that I definitely don't want to take any more medication -- I especially don't want any more narcotics.  And, I'd like to be medication-free as soon as possible.

I know it
