Scoliosis

I was diagnosed with scoliosis in my early teens and am 37 years old now.  I used to be 5'10 and was measured the other day and am only about 5'8 now.  Has anyone every had this happen to them.  I had my back checked last year and my degree is at 50 now and I think when I was younger it was about 30.

You have lost height because your degree of curvature has become greater. I've lost about a cm but I don't have the degree of curvature like you, mine isn't really noticeable. I have a curve in the lower back and behind the chest. I'm now seeing a chiropractor and doing exercises to help with pain.

Hi Jen:

I too was diagnosed with scoliosis when I was 13.  Never had much trouble with my back until I hit my 40's!
I am now 57 & have been unable to find a doctor to help.  I'm unable to sit or stand for more than a few minutes.
Also have a few herniated discs to make things interesting!

Take care
